It’s true that you can find the world’s best ice cream at thousands of locations around New England, New York, and New Jersey. Still, true fans travel many miles to our five, family-owned ice cream stands
Why? Is it to see where it all started? To choose from 55 flavors every day? To play a few rounds of mini golf? The Pot Hole Sundae? State O’ Maine Frappe? Yup, all that and more. Our personal favorite reason to visit a Gifford’s Family Ice Cream Stand? The traditional, simple pleasure of spending a warm summer evening with family, friends, or a sweetheart, enjoying each others’ company and a double scoop of your dream ice cream flavor on a homemade waffle cone.
That’s just the Maine version of heaven on earth.

Skowhegan
The closest to our magic ice cream churning machines. The place where it all started. The ice cream center of the known universe. The granddaddy of ‘em all. You never forget your first love, and this stand was the first to open way back in 1980. Wow, a whole different century (remember the hairdo’s?)
Grab a cone and try your hand at our classic mini-golf course out back.
